why a cypher?
there are a few reasons why I call our yoga gatherings cyphers..
one, the reference to circularness..
the circle represents the infinite continuum that is our connection to our Source, our Selves, and all beings everywhere
it’s not about where you start or finish; it’s about the experience of the journey
also, the cypher is a sacred space in hip hop culture where movement, sound, and rhythm are shared openly, often in freestyle form
it’s unscripted, unrehearsed, and totally raw and spontaneous
it isn’t the typical teacher~>student single-direction offering; every being is an equal contributor to the experience
the yoga cypher is a space of community and open exchange, where we all can be experimental and contribute to each other’s exploration and expression of the practice
